Buying Guide

Since this is a list for the best prebuilt PCs, we wrote this article under the assumption that anyone reading this would either not be too well acquainted with PC hardware and wouldn’t be confident enough to upgrade components on their own, or that they would be somewhat familiar with it and willing to make minor upgrades, but would mostly be searching for a hassle-free solution.

If you consider yourself the latter, an alternative choice for you would be the PC in our first entry.

It has a fantastic CPU/GPU combo, it requires a RAM and storage upgrade, but the fact that it costs 2000 dollars is a huge plus, and it means that even after the upgrades the total cost of your rig would likely still be under $2000, and you would be able to save a few bucks.

What Kind of Gaming Performance Can I Get Out of this $2000 Gaming Computer?

Whether or not you need a 2000 dollars prebuilt gaming PC depends on what you expect to get out of your investment.

This $2000 gaming PC comes with an RX 5600 XT graphics card, an Intel Core i5-10400 processor, and 16GB of memory, all of which will help it run any game on a 1080P monitor on max settings with no problems. In terms of the types of games you can play at different resolutions, the following will give you a good idea of what you can expect out of this system:

  • Non-demanding games like Fortnite, Rocket League, Apex Legends, and League of Legends, should run at ~100+ FPS on ultra settings on a 1080P monitor
  • Demanding games like PUBG, The Division 2, Rainbox Six Siege, The Witcher 3, etc. should run at ~70+ FPS on ultra settings on a 1080P monitor
  • Non-demanding games (see above for examples) should run at ~80+ FPS on higher settings on a 1440P monitor
  • Demanding games (see above for examples) should run at ~60FPS on medium-to-higher settings on a 1440P monitor
  • This system also meets the requirements for running both the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift—so it is VR-ready

These are rough estimates and will vary from game-to-game and scenario-to-scenario.

Why not upgrade to RTX 2060 or RX 5700?

At the time of writing the system is currently pretty close to $ 2000 and unfortunately, the RTX 2060, RTX 2060 SUPER, RX 5700, and RX 5700 XT are currently priced too high or not to be found. However, if you can find one of these graphics cards for as low as ~ $1500 then they’ll be worth buying more from the RX 5600 Xt.

Final Thoughts

Above are things to keep in mind when building and upgrading a gaming PC, and the list of gaming desktops worth buying in 2021. I wish you to choose for yourself the most suitable product.
