It's been almost six years since the UEFA Champions League made its debut in Pro Evolution Soccer. And since PES 2009, Konami have made it a UEFA hat-trick after securing licenses for the Europa League and the Super Cup. But are the PES Productions team about to go one step further?
If you've been watching the Euro 2016 qualifiers this week, you may have noticed the Konami advertising boards dotted in-and-around the grounds - if you missed them, see the photo above!
Without question, the Konami-UEFA relationship has grown steadily over the last few years - such as the increase of in-game licenses, the UEFA Youth League and the PES Virtual UEFA Champions League - so I'd say this is a fairly realistic concept to consider.
And if all that wasn't enough to get you scratching your chin, UEFA recently announced that they will be giving away copies of PES 2015 as part of their European Qualifiers Fantasy Football.
But with a mere 641 days until the Finals kick off in Paris, and with no official word from Konami, of course, I'd like to reiterate that this is all pure speculation - in other words, please don't treat this article like confirmed news.
So finally, do you think Konami could be on the verge of grabbing another major license, or is this just the case of a confident publisher wanting to invest more in a very promising product?
