Pedro Barbosa, aka artkiller94, was yesterday crowned the winner of this year's PES Champions Festival.

After a tense morning of immensely exciting group stage and semi-final matches in Farringdon, the two finalists - wuao88 from Spain and artkiller94 from Portugal - were whisked off to the east side of the Capital to play one final match on the huge screen in front of hundreds of spectators based at the UEFA Champions Festival in Stratford.

Despite finishing second in their respective groups, both finalists managed to remain unbeaten throughout the entire tournament right up until the final. However, after a quite ruthless performance at Olympic Park, it was the player from Porto who took home the trophy with an impressive 4-1 scoreline over his Spanish opponent.

After his win, we sat down with the newly-crowned champion who was clearly on top of the world after completing an amazing journey.
"It's a dream come true! It was my first time playing outside of Portugal and I started the best way - by becoming a European Champion! I want to thank my friends, my family, my girlfriend... for all her patience, my eSports Team Grow uP Gaming, pesfanportugal, and all the Konami staff."

Similarly to the 2012 tournament, where Mike Linden of Germany claimed the glory in Munich, Pedro picked up two tickets for the Champions League Final and was there to see Borussia Dortmund take on Bayern at Wembley Stadium.

I'd like to take this opportunity to send my congratulations to all the people who made the event so successful; Konami, the players and their guests, the staff, as well as the community members who were present on the day.

The PES community is like no other, and this weekend was a shining example of how amazing the Pro Evolution Soccer fanbase really is. It's amazing how one video game can bring so many people, all from different cultures and backgrounds, that much closer together.

The PES Team have uploaded a selection of photos from the event so be sure to check them out by going to www.facebook/PES.
